Toothpicks are unique because they do not hold or contain food items, but are used as a tool for picking up appetizers or as an after-meal accessory. Casual or fine dining restaurants often keep toothpicks by the host station. Toothpicks are typically made of wood or bamboo and are available either unwrapped or individually wrapped in plastic. Toothpicks can also come with colorful frills on one end. These are more closely related to cocktail picks. Toothpicks are a very affordable disposable product.
Any restaurateur knows that hiring the wrong employee can be very costly for business. Not only will a bad employee cost you literally, by spending the money to hire and train them and the employee that eventually replaces them, but the level of work they bring to the table in your restaurant can also be very costly.
