Winner Chosen for Tundra Restaurant Supply’s “What’s Your Dreamstaurant” Contest

Tundra Restaurant Supply launches nationwide contest Oct. 1

Boulder, CO (January 21, 2013) – Tundra Restaurant Supply’s (eTundra.com) panelist of judges for the “What’s Your Dreamstaurant” contest announced today that Adam Hegsted of Spokane, Washington is the chosen winner. As the winner of the contest, Hegsted receives a $20,000 grand prize, which includes restaurant design from Tundra’s own VP of Design, Jeff Katz, and a product package that goes towards helping him to realize his dream restaurant.

Hegsted’s entry included a description and business plan of his dream restaurant, which is promised to serve up fresh tapas with an American spin. All of the products served in the restaurant would be sourced from within 500 miles away – using primarily local farmers and producers – and some imported Spanish wines. The judges loved the idea of Hegsted using local apple wood to cook up the local ingredients, and were charmed by the idea of an underground dinner club that offered guests an exceptionally private dining experience.

Judges for the contest included Jeff Katz (who’s offering more than 30 years of design experience), Chef Kelly Liken of Restaurant Kelly Liken in Vail and Chef Ian Kleinman of The Inventing Room in Denver. Judges are pleased to offer Hegsted the design experience needed to successfully open his dream restaurant, which will include restaurant equipment and supplies from some of the industry’s leading brands like T&S Brass, Comark Instruments and Cambro.
