The Comark - DT400 - -4 - 400 degrees F Digital Thermometer has a large, digital-readout display that makes it easy to verify the correct temperatures before serving foods to guests. The thin-tip probe on the DT400 model gives a response in six seconds, so it’s ideal for a fast-paced foodservice facility. Also, the Comark -4 - 400 degrees F Digital Thermometer (DT400) shows the temperature in either Fahrenheit or Celsius, offering flexibility for employees who may be used to only one of those systems of measurement.
Thanks for contacting Tundra Restaurant Supply with your question. A good way to test your Comark DT400 Waterproof Pocket Digital Thermometer to make sure it's reading temperature correctly is to use it in boiling water. Boil some water and stick the probe end of the thermometer in. If the temperature does not read above 99°C then there's a good chance the thermometer is malfunctioning and may need to be replaced. That said, if the readout is above 99°C it's possible that there may be an issue with your dishwasher water temperature.
No you are doing the calibration correctly Thermometer has a Accuracy of ±1°F/0.5°C. Re-calibrate by merely submerging tip in proper ice water bath and holding down the button for 8 seconds.
Field Calibration Procedures: 1. The DT400 is only calibratable in a slush ice solution (60% crushed Ice and 40% tap water) or a water bath. Do not attempt to calibrate in any other manor. 2. Immerse the stem of the thermometer to at least half the length in the slush ice solution. 3. Wait for the reading to become stable (usually ± 2º of 32ºF or ± 1º of 0ºC). 4. Press and hold the D-H button for 8 seconds to begin calibration. 5. CAL will be displayed for 2 seconds and the calibration at 32ºF/0ºC is completed. 6. Remove the thermometer from the ice water and continue to take measurements.
