These ice machines are so efficient, they boast producing 25-50 pounds more ice per day when compared to other manufacturers’ machines. That comes out to 40-80 tons when you consider the average life span of 10 years for these babies.

One of our favorite things about Ice-O-Matic is their dedication to the earth and to designing equipment that wastes as little energy as possible. The company realizes that it is near impossible to create machines with zero carbon footprint, so they’ve pledged with American Forests Global ReLeaf® to plant 150,000 trees around the world. Adding this many trees to the earth is estimated to reduce global air pollutants by more than 1.5 million pounds!
We also admire Ice-O-Matic for introducing some of the revolutionary features you now see in most commercial ice makers. Ice-O-Matic was the first ice machine manufacturer to integrate what’s called a harvest assist. A harvest assist simply pushes the ice to help it fall off of the evaporator. This shortens the production cycle which saves time and conserves energy. Ice-O-Matic also uses AgION®, a naturally occurring antimicrobial compound that is built in (versus sprayed on) to any parts of the ice machine that touch the ice. This silver-ion based compound is non-toxic and yet is very effective in fighting the growth of harmful bacteria.
