Product Details

The Victorinox 40501 Paring Knife is an exceptional tool for tackling tasks that require precise and intricate cuts. Designed to be an all-purpose blade, the paring knife is like the younger brother of the popular chef’s knife. Great for peeling and slicing vegetables, the straight edge of this little devil is very effective for quick, clean hand-held work. Stamped construction provides a lighter, thinner blade and the 4 inch length tip to handle is perfect for deveining shrimp, sectioning fresh fruits, and detailing dough or desserts. A black nylon handle is slip-resistant, lightweight, and comfortable, making it easy to use this paring knife for countless food prep assignments.

I received one of the red handled smaller knives as a gift and loved it. I ordered the black slightly longer knives for gifts and am just as impressed. Stays sharp for a long time...

Comments about Victorinox 4 in Paring Knife:

When I bought my first one years ago, the company said that fiishermen used them to open shellfish and threw them away. I love that they are inexpensive, take a sharpening for quite a while and suit us both to a T. thanks. Jean

Fast service and just what I ordered.

            handle

is the shape of the handle similar to that of 3 1/4" knife , model # 40601?

            • A:

Yes, the handle of the Victorinox/Forschner 4" Black Paring Knife is similar to the 3 1/4" paring knife. I pulled both knives from our warehouse and the handles are identical in feel/texture, shape, and style.

          • Q:

blade shape same as Tundra No.: 97582?

            Does this knife:
            Mfg: Victorinox / Forschner
            Mfg. No.: 40501
            Tundra No.: 96901

have the same blade shape as:

            Mfg: Victorinox / Forschner
            Mfg. No.: 42605
            Tundra No.: 97582

I am looking for the 4 inch paring knife, Victorinox item# 5.0703 which has more of a curved spear point like Tundra No.: 97582 than the photo for Tundra No.: 96901 . Is it possible that Tundra No.: 96901 has the wrong photo?

            • A:

They have the same paring knife blade but with different color handles. I have attached an image of what we have in our inventory so you can see the comparison.

The color coded handles are for food safety purposes:

Red Handles = Raw Beef or Lamb
              Blue Handles = Raw Seafood
              Yellow Handles = Raw Poultry
              Green Handles = Raw Vegetables
              Purple Handles = Food Allergen
Back and White Handles are for whatever you decide

          • Q:

Is the 40601 the same knife as the Victorinox 6.7703
Asked on 7/10/2011 by Dennis from San Antonio, Texas

            1 answer

            • A:

They are not exactly the same but they are very similar to one another. The paring knife on our website is for commercial use and 6.7703 is for residential use.
