  • Q:

What size container do you need for a 5lb bag of flour?

I was thinking of ordering the Cambro Translucent Square Storage Container 6qt. Does that allow for any extra room at the top or does 5lb just fit?

Yes, 5 lbs of flour will fit in this 6 qt food container with some room to spare. Based on the site below, 5 lbs of all purpose flour equals 4.54 quarts.

    Lid questions

Does the lid come with this? Are the lids meant to be air tight, like a rubbermaid type container? I'm trying to find something to store flour in for a few months at a time- is this a good choice?

Lids are seperate but worth the price. Perfect for storing anything. You will not regret your purchase. I have one 6 qt with lid and am going to purchase more.

It would not be a problem to store flour in this container, in fact, I recommend it. Lids are not included but I have attached several below that will fit. I also attached an ingredient bin that may work a little better for storing flour. It holds 40 cups of ingredients and comes with scoop and a sliding lid.
