I am looking for an urn to hold hot wine. this urn would work if it has a switch to only turn it in a warmer, not a brewer since the hot wine I want to fill it with can not boil. I plan to heat the wine on a stove and then fill it in the urn to keep hot but not boiling is this product suitable?

It sounds like you just need a hot beverage holder like a camtainer. http://restaurant-supplies.etundra.com/search?w=beverage%20camtainer

filter basket does the filter basket have a cover (not meaning the actual cover for the pot)? we have one of these at our church and the grounds get all in the coffee because there is no cover for where you put the coffee grinds in the basket.

This unit does not have a covered filter basket. However, after speaking with the manufacturer, they assured me that they have had no complaints of anyone getting grounds in their coffee. As long as you use it as directed and don't over fill it, this coffee urn will not give you grounds in your coffee.
