Does the blade assembly come with the tool to detach and attach it?

Thanks for contacting Tundra Restaurant Supply with your question.

The Vita-Mix 15598 Blade Assembly does not come with a tool, and our technician informs me that no special tool is needed to replace your old blade. You should be able to remove it with the handle of a crescent wrench or by hand.

    Blade Assembly

I have two blade assemblies for the 4 sided container Tundra no. 69868 that are dated 6/2010 and 5/2010 and they are very loud with a problem with the bearings in the blade assembly. I am surprised these blades went bad so quickly. I have other blades from 2005 that are not bad. Is this something with this type of blade or did I just get two bad ones. Is there a reason for this?

There are no known problems with these blades. Are you sure you installed them correctly?

There isn't a known issue with the blades assemblies from 2010. I recommend contacting our customer service team to see if they can diagnose the issue at 1.888.388.6372. It may be an installation issue.

What is the better blade to purchase for the older style blender tops? Ice blade or the other option

There are two blades listed for the older blender tops. I have a few older tops that need new blades so I would like which one works best chopping up ice in smoothies

We don't really know what you mean by "older." In order to direct you to the right blades, we'd need the model number of your blender. To proceed further, please call our sales department at 800 447 4941 x2.

Everything you see in the picture is part of the blade assembly. If you are looking for replacement drive sockets I have attached them below. You can buy a pack of 1, 2 or 5 depending on your needs. If you need 4 replacements, I recommend getting 2 packs of 2 (#26385) rather than the pack of 5 (#26109) because it will be less expensive.
