      No, unfortunately that lid will not fit that container. One option: you can call the residential dept. at Vitamix (1-800-848-2649 or email them at service[at]vitamix[dot]com) and they may have some spare parts available for a replacement, but they don’t make that container for that model anymore (nor do they make that model blender anymore).

    model # 479003 it's a vitamix sidewinder. the lid got chewed up.

      Thanks for your question.

      In speaking with the manufacturer I was told that they don't believe the Sidewinder is a product they make, and that this model of machine may be made by someone else. Doing a little research of my own it looks like this model of mixer is an older Vita-Mix product (1960s). Can you confirm this? It may be difficult to find parts for a unit this old, but if you can provide some additional information we'll do our best. Do you have a serial number by chance?

      yes it is an old model. i remember my dad gave it to my mom in the 70's i believe.
      what i need is a new lid it is 4 7/8 x 4 7/8 i don't know how big it is regarding 48 oz or not. can you help me witht he measurments of the lids you do carry. thanks
