Comments about Imperial Conversion Kit Nat Gas to LP:

Product was installed and worked flawlessly in two different fryers. It was good to know that what I ordered worked as advertised. Product was a more expensive than others which is the only reason it didn't get 5 stars. I was willing to pay to buy from eTundra as I was confident in it being the right part.

I did every step and I still can't get it to start. The pilot will light but the burners will not light. The pilot seems to be running high gas.

where does the thimble looking piece go no instructions with my kit

It goes just below the pilot light. Unscrew the the gas supply tube from the bottom of the pilot assembly. The part you have in question is just inside the pilot assembly. The old one should slide right out.

  • Q:

    Converting to LP gas.

If I convert to LP gas do I need to add a LP gas regular in front of the combination valve in addition to changing the springs and office in the combination valve?

    • A:

Natural gas flow is about 4 ounces. You should install a low pressure regulator upstream from your gas valve since LPG is high pressure. You can install a low pressure regulator on your tank or somewhere in between your equipment and tank. After you install your orifices etc, you will need to adjust your pilot by turning the screw on the side of your gas valve. Turn it to the left or open it up until you get a blue flame without any yellow tip.

Answered on 2/1/2012 by mypoppys from Parker, CO
    • A:

Yes, you will need a gas regulator. Gas is measured in water column inches. LP gas is heavier & flows at a higher rate than natural gas.
