groen md.a-171-40 serial no. 343c- 1973. this gas valve looks just like mine only mine doesn't have the blue plastic cover with the two plugs for elec. Will this fit and work without the elec being hooked up? what does this blue unit do? no difference except it. same 1/2 inch hook up and pilot off and on. thanks don
The blue section on this Groen 088260 BASO 1/2"" 24V Natural Gas Control Valve serves a specific purpose and powers the 24V electrical ignition. If your current part does not have this piece then it's safe to say your piece of equipment has a standing pilot.
