    The replaceable plastic insert.

I have a Sysco Corporation size no. 1 can opener but the base I have has no insert. I looked for just the insert but reviews said theirs didn't fit. I would just as soon buy a new base so I know that everything has a proper fit. I would like to know the dimensions of the insert. My opener is in an "H" that measures 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" x 14" long. I need to make sure this is what I need before purchasing.

      Thanks for your question Sue.

Our technician thinks it's possible Sysco has re-branded an Edlund can opener. It happens often, but we can't be certain this is the case.

The manufacturer was not able to provide the mesurements for the bar that goes with this Edlund A930SP Plated Base w/ Insert. That said, the base itself has an opening that measures 1 5/16" x 1 1/4". Given that we don't sell Sysco products, and that we can't be certain Sysco has re-branded an Edlund can opener, we can give no guarantee your bar will fit.

The manufacturer responded after measuring the bar that goes with this base. The bar measures 1 3/16" x 1 3/16".

The insert that comes with the base for a #1 can opener fits the base of a #2 can opener. Replacement inserts are sold separately but since there aren't any dimensions on the item I don't know if they work or not. Previous reviews indicated that they didn't. It would be nice to be able to get dimensions on a product before having to pay shipping to get it, 20% restocking fee plus shipping again to return it and then start over again until you get the correct size part.
