Ice cream, soda pop, lemonade punch, tell me the name of your honey-bunch.
From childhood jump-rope songs to frozen dots, ice cream has been iconic in American history since the first ice cream parlor opened in 1776. Of course we loathed over the sweet treat when we were children, but even as adults we can’t get over the simplest flavor of vanilla or the latest concoction by Ben and Jerry.
We have to be thankful that the hand-cranked ice cream makers of yester-years have evolved to help ice cream parlors continuously serve up single, double, even triple scoop ice cream cones. But it’s okay if you’re still hand-crackin’ away… your guests will wait for you, right? Or maybe it’s time update your supplies; a fancy new disher perhaps?
