      Comments about Commercial Vegetable Peeler:

I have had this one for years- it seems, until Mothers Day when family was here and one decided it was their choice as well and I no longer have it in my drawer for my daily handy use- as I eat many vegeatables and fruits- this tool is one of my most used tools or was I should say. This item should be in every household kitchen.

      Service and delivery comments:

      • Q:

        Is this peeler strong?

I need a peeler strong enough to peel yucca root and/or turnips.
Is your peeler really strong enough to do this job?
It looks no stronger than the ones I see in stores for much less money.
        I appreciate your answer...thank you.

This peeler will work for peeling root vegetables. I read that by microwaving yucca root for 2 minutes it softens the root and the peel. You can then make a vertical cut along the length of the yucca root with a sharp paring knife and lift one side. Peel away any skin that comes off easily. Next, remove the rest of the skin from the root with a sharp sturdy potato peeler. Your sharp paring knife also can do the job, although this may require more work. Use a carving or scraping motion, whichever is easiest for you.
