I have a 7 space used steamer table. It has 2 , 120 elements(not 220 element) I had it on for 4 hours and it never got hotter that 120 degrees.

Do I need new elements. I want it to get to 165 degrees and more. Are there different size elements for this purpose. The table was used in a fish restaurant. Both elements work so that is not the problem. Just not hot enough maybe???

You may be plugging the unit into an outlet with the wrong voltage. Make sure that you have a 120 volt outlet, if not, you may need to call a local electrician. An outlet with the wrong voltage can result in burnt out elements.

Yes, There are different wattage elements. I use only 1000 watt. I can always turn down the thermostat. If you have 500 watt element, you are stuck there at the Max. Just compare the pic, size and voltage before purchase. Most tables are 120V /240V or could be marked 208V that means you have 3 phase wiring to your restaurant. Hope this helps.
