Your refrigeration thermometer is one of the first things a health inspector will check in your back of house, so make sure you keep a few thermometers on hand (and hopefully in the fridge) to make sure your food is always being stored at food-safe temperatures. At Tundra Restaurant Supply we feature a variety of thermometers for refrigerators from the industry's leading manufacturers like Comark, Cooper-Atkins, Winco, San Jamar, Taylor and more! Always make sure your refrigerator is in working order by recording temperature readings from your thermometer regularly.
In foodservice, the "Danger Zone" refers to the temperature between 40° F and 140° F, where bacteria is most susceptible to multiplying quickly. So quick, in fact, that bacteria can double in growth on foods within this temperature range. A refrigerator thermometer is key for making sure you stay out of this danger zone—but only if you check it! Keep a clipboard hung on the fridge nearby to record regular temperature recordings throughout the day. You'll get a gold star from your health inspector.
