Boulder, CO is leading the way with a new zero-waste ordinance and Denver isn't far behind. Find out more about eco-friendly resources in the front range.

You may have heard, Denver is the fastest-growing large city in the country. Between the burgeoning tech market (the area is commonly referred to as the "Silicon Valley of the Rockies") to its competitive housing market, it's clear that more people are flocking to experience Colorado's 300 days of sunshine a year. But with growth comes higher demand on our resources, and meeting high customer demand can be challenging to your sustainability goals.

We're here to help

At Tundra Restaurant Supply, we're making it easy to shop for, and learn more about, eco-friendly restaurant supplies. We offer everything from high efficiency pre-rinse units, to energy-efficient lighting and restaurant equipment, and a diverse selection of eco-friendly disposables. You can even schedule a free sustainability walkthrough with one of our knowledgeable staff members to identify areas within your business where you can make an impact.

We can provide resources to help you comply with new legislative requirements (like the City of Boulder Universal Zero Waste Ordinance), in addition to helping you secure some beneficial rebates from Boulder County Partners for a Clean Environment (PACE) as well as local energy companies like Xcel Energy to help offset the initial cost of your upgrades. So what are you waiting for? Reach your sustainability goals today!

Universal Zero Waste Ordinance

The goal of the new Zero Waste Ordinance is to generate new materials from 85 percent of our waste by 2025. In order to divert much of this waste out of the landfill, the city has taken steps to expand recycling and composting to all Boulder residents, employees and visitors by requiring:

These signs meet the signage requirements in the ordinance and may be downloaded and printed at no charge. We also have free copies of these signs located in our Boulder showroom!

As part of the ordinance, the City of Boulder has several rebate and incentive programs to help offset the cost (up to 50% of $1,000 starting from scratch, and 50% of $500 on rebates) of interior bins and compostable liners. Whether you are adding new recycling and compost collection bins, or you are expanding your bins to comply with the new requirements, you may be eligible for a rebate from the city.

Download and fill out the following forms below and submit to the City of Boulder. Have any questions? We are here to help (and can even file the forms for you!). Give us a call at 1-888-388-6372 or contact your outside sales representative for more information.
