Types of Popular Commercial Faucets
Shopping for the right faucet for your business? From mop sink faucets to pre rinse faucets, here's a little more about each type of commercial faucet you'll want in your kitchen.
Wall Mount
Found in nearly all commercial kitchens, wall mounted faucets are installed in a sink backsplash or on the wall. Often these will be integrated into your pre-rinse assembly for 3 compartment sinks, when filling basins full of water is required.
Mop Sink
Mop sink faucets make it easier to fill and rinse out mop buckets with ease. Keep a mop sink separate from where you do the dishes or wash your hands to prevent cross contamination.
Gooseneck
The tall, rounded neck of a gooseneck faucet is perfect when you need additional clearance for stock pots, large pans and other awkward items.
Pre Rinse Assembly
The reliable standby for any 3 compartment sink or dish table, pre rinse assemblies are perfect for quickly rinsing off leftover food from plates for thorough clean.
Best Faucet for Your Sink
Chances are you have multiple sinks in your commercial kitchen. From prep areas, to handwashing stations and even front of house areas like the bar, equip these areas with the right type of plumbing faucets.
Hand Sink
Hand sinks might be found behind the bar or in the kitchen and are often equipped with a wall mount or deck mount faucet. Typically these lower-quality, "throwaway" faucets often fail within a year which is why we recommend spending a little extra on a faucet that'll last you a lifetime. Since faucet replacement on these sinks typically require full removal from the wall, you'll be looking at a pricy plumber charge and the cost of a new faucet.
3 Compartment Sink
If your kitchen lacks a dishwasher, a 3 compartment sink is required by health inspectors to adequately wash, sanitize and rinse your glassware, dishes, cutlery and more. Not only will you want a pre-rinse assembly to spray off debris from your dishes, but you'll also need a faucet to fill your basins with water. When shopping for an add-on faucet, take care to measure the spout size required to reach all of the bays on your sink.
Dish Table
Equip your dish table with a simple pre rinse assembly to rinse off stubborn stuck-on food before it hits the dishwasher. Keep in mind that some municipalities have water restrictions in place that might require the purchase of an aerator or lower GPM spray valve to reduce the flow rate.
